Congratulations to the one and only PRINCE, who was voted Hat Person of the Year in a global online poll conducted by The Headwear Association (THA). His devoted fan base united in a social media groundswell, and Prince fan sites worldwide shared, tweeted and re-posted the legendary singer to victory.
Prince received 82% of the vote in an online poll, beating out Alicia Keyes (7%), pro baller and hat fan Cam Newton (5%) the stylish Janelle Monàe (5%) and country star Jason Aldean (4%). Surprisingly, Beyonce only received 1% of the vote.

Previous Hat Person of the Year winners include Pharrell Williams; Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton; Johnny Depp; Brad Pitt and Kate Moss.
The Headwear Association is a 108-year old trade association, the oldest in the fashion industry. Their mission is to promote hats and the headwear industry throughout the world, and to foster goodwill and fellowship among those engaged in the headwear industry.
It is a bittersweet victory, but the legendary music and incredible style of PRINCE lives on.
