The Headwear Association Names Al Roker
Sixth Annual Hat Person of the Year
[NEW YORK] Congratulations to Al Roker, who was named Hat Person of the Year by The Headwear Association (THA). When online voting for 2015 Hat Person of The Year commenced, Al tweeted to his fans that he was in the running and the votes poured in.
Al Roker received 59% of the vote in an online poll, beating out the stylish Jessica Alba (36%) and fan favorites Bruno Mars (3%), Taylor Swift (2%), Justin Timberlake (1%) and Rihanna (1%).
The online voting was held at HATPERSON.WECANVOTE.org
The popular TODAY show anchor and weatherman has been regularly wearing hats on air since 1990 when he joined the TODAY show news team. Al has made hats, particularly panamas, trilbys and fedoras, part of his signature style for years.
Previous Hat Person of the Year winners include Pharrell Williams; Kate Moss; Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton; Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt.
The Headwear Association is a 107-year old trade association, the oldest in the fashion industry. Their mission is to promote hats and the headwear industry throughout the world, and to foster goodwill and fellowship among those engaged in the headwear industry.
