THA Names Janelle Monàe
Ninth Annual Hat Person of the Year
Congratulations to the one and only Janelle Monàe, who was voted 2019 Hat Person of the Year in a global online poll conducted by The Headwear Association (THA). Her devoted fan base united, casting their votes and propelling Monàe to a landslide victory over British Royalty, a Super Bowl MVP and even the legendary J Lo.

Janelle Monàe is the ninth annual recipient of Hat Person of the Year.
Previous Hat Person of the Year winners include: Lady Gaga, Prince, Pharrell Williams; Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton; Johnny Depp; Brad Pitt; Kate Moss and Al Roker.
The Headwear Association is an 111-year old trade association, the oldest in the fashion industry. Our mission is to promote hats and the headwear industry throughout the world, and to foster goodwill and fellowship among those engaged in the headwear industry.
Every year, The Headwear Association asks headwear aficionados to name one style denizen Hat Person of the Year. This year Janelle Monàe won with an overwhelming majority of the votes, and her headwear choices continue to amaze and inspire us all.
